Hemnani, IILM, Amity University & Umesh Chandra College (Day) march ahead

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) football tournament featured four matches in Delhi and Kolkata on Friday. There was just one game in Kolkata, while Netaji Subhash Sports Complex, Jasola was the venue for the rest of the games in Delhi.
In the College Boys category matches in Delhi, IILM College of Engineering and Technology were awarded a 3-0 walkover win against Gautam Buddha University, while Amity University beat JSS Academy of Technical Education 5-4 on penalties after both sides failed to break the deadlock in normal time.
Meanwhile, Bangabasi College (Main) took on Umesh Chandra College (Day) in the College Boys category match in Kolkata. With both sides failing to find the back of the net in regulation time at Jadavpur University, the match headed into another penalty shootout to separate the sides. An evenly-contested game from start to finish, it was eventually Umesh Chandra College (Day) who held their nerve to win the match 5-4 on penalties and qualify for the next round.
Lastly, the sole Junior Boys category match in Delhi saw Hemnani Public School ease into the next phase with a 4-0 win over Dev Samaj Modern School. They opened the scoring at the stroke of half-time and went in with a 1-0 advantage at the break. Hemnani Public School doubled their advantage 10 minutes into the second period and added another two more goals before the final whistle. The match also saw Sarthak Mahajan score a hat-trick for Hemnani Public School.
When asked who he follows and shapes his game after, the youngster from standard 10 said: “I watch videos of my idols like Ronaldo, Neymar etc. and try to copy their trickery and movements.”
