Goa Region sets the tone

With four rounds of matches already done, Dempo Sports Club top the Goa Regional Qualifiers with an unbeaten run so far. Their biggest win so far came against Churchill Brothers FC when they beat them 6-0 in the latest round of the Regional Qualifiers. The only time Dempo SC failed to register a win was against Sporting Clube de Goa in the opening round where they were held to a 2-2 draw.

FC Goa are placed second and look to be in fine form as well. Except their defeat against Dempo SC, they have been a force to be reckoned with and have registered clean sheets in three of their four matches, the most by any team in the Goa Regional Qualifiers.

The top goalscorers’ chart is led by Dempo’s Mevan Shawn Dias with five goals while Clube de Salgaocar’s Isac Zomuanpuia stands close second with four goals. Dempo have scored 13 goals – the most by any team.

Mumbai Region adds to the excitment

The battle for the top spot in the Mumbai Regionis getting tight with three teams tied at seven points. Before the start of the third round, MH Oranje FC and Millat FC were on top with six points each. However, a draw between them and a win for RF Young Champs over Mumbai City FC in the latest round have put three teams tied on seven points. Both RFYC and MH Oranje FC are tied on goal difference as well with four points apiece, while Millat FC stay on their heels, behind only on goal difference.

 

Rest of India Region

The newly introduced Rest of India Region comprising teams from different states kicked off on December 5. In the opening round of matches Classic FA and Jamshedpur FC registered a comfortable 5-0 and 3-0 wins, respectively. SAI-RC and Football 4 Change Academy fought hard for the crucial three points, but the former edged past with a 3-2 scoreline. While Jamshedpur FC and Classic FA maintained their winning run in the second round, Football 4 Change Academy bounced back with a 3-0 win over Todo United FC.

In the third round, when the table-toppers Jamshedpur and Classic FA clashed against each other, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Todo United suffered to their third defeat in a row as SAI-RC registered a 3-2 win over them. Football 4 Change Academy made it two wins in a row with a 3-0 win over Senapati FC.

South India adds to the might

In the Kerala Regional Qualifiers of RFDL Season 2024-25, Gokulam Kerala FC and Kerala Blasters FC occupy the top spots with each team winning in their respective opening matches. While Gokulam Kerala beat Wayanad United FC 4-1, the Blasters got the better of Kerala United SC 4-2. Meanwhile, the match between Muthoot FA and Parappur FC ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Regional Qualifiers of the RFDL Season 4 kicked off in the South Region with Kickstart FC beating Sreenidi Deccan 1-0. Chennaiyin FC, on the other hand, kicked off their campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bengaluru International Football Academy. Matches are yet to begin in the North and East Regional Qualifiers, while the Goa Regional Qualifiers is approaching its climax.
