Goa, Delhi host midweek thrillers in football tournament

Matches for the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports continued in Delhi in the College Boys category. Whereas Goa hosted matches in the College, Junior and Senior Boys categories.

O.P Jindal Global University started the day's proceedings in Delhi, with a narrow 1-0 victory over Motilal Nehru College. Trinity College of Professional Studies steamrolled past Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Sciences with six goals without reply, as Pratik Rana was adjudged the Player of the Match for a sumptuous brace.

Delhi Technological University broke little sweat beating Swami Shraddhanand College four goals to one while P.G DAV College won comfortably against JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus with two goals that went unanswered. The athletes from Sri Aurobindo College were on song, scoring five goals against Bhagwan Parshuram College Institute of Technology without an answer. The last two encounters for the day in the city were a roller coaster ride with Netaji Subhas College losing 5-3 on penalties against College of Vocational Studies and Motilal Nehru College winning 6-5 on penalties again, against Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. Naveen Taxak was adjudged the Player of the Match for saving a penalty and also scoring the winning one!

In Goa, The day started with Govt. College of Arts Science and Commerce thumping S.S.A Govt. College of Arts and Commerce seven goals to one. Five Junior Boys matches took place, starting with St. Rita High School edging out Rosary High School, 2-1. Don Bosco High School were on a roll, scoring seven goals without reply against a hapless Holy Cross High School Bastora. Anthony Fernandes was a standout performer scoring five goals in the first half and was awarded the player of the match certificate. St. Anthony High School repeated the score line of the previous game, scoring seven goals past Fr Agnel Central School. Rosary High School's defense held on tightly in the dying minutes as they defeated St. Joseph High School 2-1. Our Lady of Grace High School displayed slick footballing skills in their win against Shree Shanta Vidyalaya, winning the game comprehensively 4-0. Kendriya Vidyalaya Bambolim Camp Goa and St. Josephs Educational Institute also emerged victorious in the last two games of the Junior Boys category for the day, both winning by a margin of 2-0. The final two games in the city were played in the Senior Boys Category with Cuncolim Higher Secondary School winning with an impressive score line of 8-1 against Vidya Vikas Education, and St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School celebrating a goal fest scoring twelve times against Sharada Higher Secondary School Ozari Pernem. Osrick Trindade was adjudged the player of the match for an emphatic hat trick in the first half.
