Mumbai was the latest city to get its City Championship winners while Kolkata continued with the knock-out round today.
Nihal's brilliant brace, either side of the half was the difference for Don Bosco High School in the Mumbai Junior Boys City Championship Final against St. Francis Dassisi High School and Junior College. Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School and Junior College lifted the School Girls City Championship for the second year running. They thumped St. Andrews College by 7-1 thanks to five goals from Akanksha Anil Kandalkar. Senior Boys from Thakur College Of Science & Commerce defeated last year Champions, Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School & Junior College in a penalty shootout. The game had finished scoreless at fulltime.
Rizvi College Of Arts, Science & Commerce became the College Boys Champions after a thrilling game against Thakur College. Thakur College came from behind to equalize in an extremely fast-paced first half. Both teams created chances throughout the game but brilliant defending kept the game at 1-1 and Thakur College made it with a 5-4 win.
In Kolkata, Kapasdanga Satin Sen Vidyapith, Gangadharpur Vidyamandir, Hijuli Sikhaniketan and Sarsuna High School made it to the next round of the Senior Boys category. In the Junior category, Baidyapara High School, Chowbaga High School, Barbashi High School and Gangadharpur Vidyamandir proceeded to the next knock-out round.
