Gulveer, Barwal shine bright on a Super Sunday for RF athletes

One of India’s prominent distance runners, Gulveer Singh, continued to build on his fantastic season as he led India to an impressive finish at the 17th Asian Cross Country Championships in Hong Kong.

Competing in the men’s 10km category, Gulveer won the gold medal in 32 minutes and 43 seconds while his compatriots Abhishek Pal and Arun Rathod took home silver and bronze clocking 32:49 and 32:51 minutes, respectively. Their performance along with Kartik Kumar’s fourth place finish helped India win the team title as well.
It’s been a season to remember for Gulveer. He raised his game to break the two-time Olympian Avinash Sable’s national record in June and later improved it by a few seconds last month.
