Reliance Foundation athletes make fine start to National Games by winning 14 medals in first 10 days including 5 Golds

Reliance Foundation’s athletes have made a sparkling start to the National Games by winning as many as 14 medals in just the first 10 days of the competition. The tally includes five Golds, five silvers and four bronze medals.

The 14 medals have come in four different sports so far: shooting, archery, badminton and boxing.

Reliance Foundation has also set up a recovery centre for its athletes to help them unwind and deliver their best performances.
Tokyo medalist Lovlina Borgohain established her supremacy again upon her return to action by winning Gold in dominant fashion in the women’s 75kg category upon her return to action post the Paris Olympics.

Veteran shooter Gurpreet Singh also bagged a brace of medals, winning silver in the 25m rapid fire pistol and bronze in the 10m air pistol category with impressive scores in the final. He was joined on the podium in the 10m air pistol event by fellow Reliance Foundation athlete Ravinder Singh, who won silver.
Niraj Kumar beat a star-studded field to win Gold in the 50m rifle 3 positions event with a very impressive score of 464.1 in the final, while Palak Gulia also made a fine start to the season by winning silver in the women’s 10m air pistol event.

Badminton prodigy Unnati Hooda played a vital part in delivering the women’s team championship for Haryana women with a string of match winning displays in both the singles and doubles events. Anupama Upadhyaya followed her Gold from the previous edition with a silver in this edition in the women’s singles event.
Young Goldie Mishra marked himself out as a serious talent by winning two medals in archery: gold in the recurve men’s team event and bronze in the recurve mixed team event. Juyel Sarkar toppled a quality field to win Gold in the men's recurve individual event to cap a solid campaign in archery.
With athletics events set to begin from tomorrow, Reliance Foundation athletes are poised to add to their medal tally in the final week of competition.
